Whether its for your wedding or for every day makeup natural and neutral can be the same but it is different. As a Utah Wedding hair and makeup artist I have people all the time send me inspiration photos that they want natural makeup and than send me a pic that I definitely wouldn't consider it being "natural" Now when I see a photo natural for one person is very different than others which no matter when I see a photo I ask tons of questions.
Neutral Makeup are the tones of the makeup look. When you want a neutral tone you want creams, coppers, and browns and neutral colors for your face and skin tone. You could use black as an intensifier for eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and still count it as neutral. You could have very big lashes, blush and contour could be on display on more noticeable. Neutral makeup in my opinion focuses not on the intensity of the makeup just the colors.
Natural makeup I would consider an everyday look with lighter colors, and less intense of colors. You either have just mascara on or very short not noticeable lashes. You usually have not a very strong contour or bronzing. Not a ton of blush etc. Natural makeup you could do in shades of any color pink, purple, gray, but they would still be soft and not super noticeable or intense. Alot of people think natural also means neutral which MOST of the time I would say is also true, but not always the case.
As a bridal makeup artist I won't correct you if how you are describing a look is not the way I describe it, but I will clarify and ask specific questions. Do you like how these are browns or do you like this other photo that is more pinks and mauves. Do you like how dark the outer edge of her eyeshadow is? Do you like her eyeliner black or brown, smudged, or defined? This isn't something you have to be soo worried about, but it might help if you are trying to describe a certain look to a Professional if you are getting married or the next time you are in Ulta or Sephora shopping for a new eyeshadow palette. The next time you are trying to choose a makeup look for yourself on a special day or every day pay attention to the tones, colors, and intensity of the colors and you will better be able to figure out if the look is natural or neutral.
